This part-time position involves managing the daily operations of the Group Fitness Department and is responsible for developing and maintaining our Group Fitness programs to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.

The Role:

Fitness Manager at our Home Club in Clarkson (25 Hours)

Purpose:

We are seeking a highly motivated, professional and results-driven Fitness Manager to join our successful team.

As an integral part of the management team, you will be responsible for launching and managing new product offerings and the recruitment, development and ongoing support and training of our PT team.

Responsibilities will also include being the champion of any fitness-related products and programs such as S Connect 12 Week Challenge, The Surge Fitness Member Journey and any other programs that may be introduced into the business.

The FM will teach 5 member experience classes per week as part of the allocated hours.

With a real focus on providing our members with a safe, caring and engaging environment, you will have a passion for health and fitness and will work with the entire team at Surge to make a difference to peoples lives through exercise and leading by example.

This is a part time position and you will also have the opportunity to supplement your income by providing Personal Training services outside of your management hours with a complimentary membership and licence agreement. 

Trainers train people, coaches change people.

This is a unique role and requires a highly engaged, skilled and dedicated individual who has the ability to help our members and staff achieve their goals in both 1:1 and in a group training format.

The right person will have high emotional intelligence and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ideally, they will have the qualifications to conduct a variety of fitness programs/workshops and also the competence in all modalities of functional and strength training.

Minimum Criteria:

  • Previous experience in recruiting and leading a team of high performance fitness professionals.
  • Proven record in a similar management role.
  • Cert IV Fitness
  • HLTAID001 provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and
  • HLTAID002 provide basic emergency life support.
  • Previous experience in a fitness role.
  • AUS active/ network registrations or alternative
  • ABN
  • Relevant business insurance and public liability
  • Relevant certification and qualification for specialized services.
  • Experience with recruitment and development of a high performing personal training team.
  • Highly skilled in delivering both 1:1 PT, SGT and Functional Group Training.
  • Experience with using heart rate technology with clients.
  • Proven competence in all modalities of functional and strength training such as FTI Master Functional Trainer or equivalent.
  • Must be willing to complete practical and provide a thorough business plan to be considered for final interview stage.
  • Experience taking new and innovative programs to market and launching community-based events in a health club environment.

The Fitness Manager will also be responsible for achieving budgeted revenues and cost lines, and also overseeing all relevant systems and procedures that are adhered to as per company guidelines.

A high level of computer literacy, excellent communication skills and competence in social media management are required.
