My philosophy focuses on continual lifelong learning as I work towards enhancing the well-being of my clients and participants by empowering them with the knowledge, skills, support, guidance and the resources they need, to assist and inspire them on their personal journey. I have worked in and across the fitness and health sectors for 12 years. Whilst I studied a bachelor of exercise science and psychology, I worked with a variety of age groups and found the demographic I was working with really had a misconception of what fit and healthy meant. This inspired me to change course direction to become a health and physical education teacher so that I could teach and equip the future generations with the skills and knowledge to form a well rounded, holistic approach towards developing good healthy habits. I am passionate about getting people moving and maintain an active involvement teaching groups & group fitness.

I've been exercising intensively since the age of 23, and even before then I was a keen surfer. Nowadays I enjoy jogging, bike-riding and fishing if I'm not spending time with my family. My current focus is directed on Aqua Aerobics as I love seeing just how much it benefits the elderly both physically and mentally.

Kia Ora My first taste of exercise started in a small country town in NZ, where my sisters and I had nothing else to do but go outside and play, Jump Ropes, Climb Trees, Ride Bikes and Play Sport . I went on to play social and representative sport in Rugby Union, Rugby League, Touch Rugby, and Softball. I’ve started working in the fitness industry in NZ and was one of the youngest aerobic instructors in NZ (16) I travelled aboard to work in the fitness industry , UK , Ireland and Greek Islands and Australia . I care deeply about member's, and people and there’s nothing of more value to me than helping somebody go through an experience that makes them happy, confident, and strong. Getting fit mentally and physically isn’t easy, it takes work and time, my passion is to encourage healthier lifestyles which builds healthier communities. Shaun Jewell
