Menopause 2.0: Next Level Training for Optimal Performance

Australia: National

In this course, you will explore the science of menopause as it uniquely affects active women over 40. You will learn how to identify and differentiate the stages of perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause - not just by age or cycle changes, but through hormonal patterns and their physiological impacts. This course will also help you challenge outdated narratives, examining the historical, social, and cultural contexts that have shaped negative perceptions of menopause, particularly in Western society.

In addition, you will understand the vital roles of key hormones - estradiol (E2), progesterone, testosterone, and others - before and after your ‘menopause birthday’. You will examine how fluctuations in these hormones affect muscle protein synthesis, bone health, cognition, sleep, metabolism, immune function, and body composition. Importantly, you will discover that the symptoms many women experience due to hormone withdrawal and shifting receptor sensitivity have implications for how we approach interventions like menopause hormone therapy(MHT).

You will learn how changing hormone ratios create ripple effects across multiple body systems, including the nervous system and brain neurotransmitters like serotonin. You’ll uncover why symptoms like hot flashes, mood changes, sleep disturbances, and metabolic shifts emerge - and why their intensity can differ between natural menopause and medical or surgically induced menopause.

You will be encouraged to rethink menopause not as a “decline” but as a transition to a new biological state. Drawing from both scientific insight and global cultural perspectives, you’ll explore how menopause can be reframed as a powerful time of autonomy, freedom, and strength. Whether you’re seeking personal understanding or supporting others, this course will equip you with practical knowledge to navigate menopause with confidence and clarity.

At the end of each module, there is a collection of consolidation activities (drag and drop, multiple choice, matching, etc.). These activities will consolidate your learning. There is also a section where I have answered some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) I get.

Each module consists of chapters (see below for details). The videos come with a full transcript, and there is also captioning over the video. A complete reference list is provided at the end of this workbook. There is a 20-0question online exam at the end of each of modules 1-4. At the end of the course is a Wrap-Up chapter and the opportunity to send us video and text feedback.

The time required to fully complete this course is approximately 20 hours.
