I am both a client of and an industry colleague of Jac Grangien. Over the last 10 years it has been my privilege to train, study & work alongside Jac. The depth of her knowledge is unchallengeable and her keen eye for detail make her an excellent teacher & trainer. Jac also has an inquiring mind which leads her to strength in the area of Research & Development. A trainer with the calibre of Jac is a real asset to our industry.

I started seeing Jac as I was scared to go up and down stairs due to my knees being a bit reluctant to perform! I am in my early 50s and was concerned at what I would potentially be like as the years progressed. I also have scoliosis and haven't actively exercised for at least 12 years. Within a matter of weeks Jac had me doing squats, deeper than I had ever gone before. I was amazed at how retraining the brain worked - simply by applying different techniques to capture the same movement. I now bounce up and downstairs and am feeling much more confident in my body movement overall. This sort of exercise is remarkable in providing strength, toning, cardio and confidence.

Weakness due to a femoral neuropathy in one leg resulted in walking difficulty, instability and several falls. Medical feedback on a recovery was negative but a strong recommendation to consult Jac resulted in a flexible and achievable exercise program tailored to my needs. Her clear and optimistic understanding of my problem has enabled me ultimately to resume playing golf, daily walking and jogging with pleasure and confidence. I have great respect for her professional expertise and empathy and will always be extremely grateful.

After months of suffering from chronic pain and feeling exhausted after invasive procedures and specialist appointments, with no leads as to why my pain was occurring, a friend recommended I see Jac. After our first meeting, Jac took a great interest in helping me. This was the first time I had met with someone and after having explained my situation, she showed true empathy. Jac put in a lot of her own time and effort, providing me with education and found others in her field that could find a diagnosis and we could finally begin to move forward. Jac helped me to get off the medical merry go round and opened my eyes to alternative methods and exercises to relieve the pain.

I have been training with Jac since 2014 and prior to this I had suffered from constant back pain after a serious car accident the year before. Within one session I felt that Jac just got it. She studied the way in which I moved and began focusing on getting my body to work together again using a range of mobilisers. Within a very short period of time of both training with Jac and utilising the knowledge I had gained and using mobilisers in my own time I started to see significant improvement. I went from barely walking/bending/sitting/standing/turning and lifting to training like an athlete again.

I have been working with Jac for several years after having tried a number of other types of exercise and movement. I am almost 65 and for me flexibility, strength and co-ordination are very important as I move into these years. That's what Jac does in her training sessions. The core premise is to look at the body as an integrated unit and to learn to move in a way that benefits the whole body. The movements are gentle but purposeful, and in my experience bring incredible results. Jac's knowledge of the body is extensive and her attention to the details of each person's wellbeing is exceptional. I know this kind of training will serve me in good stead for many years to come.

Jac has an uncanny knack at finding the problem area. Systematically working through movement systems/patterns to see the link or lack of link that's causing the problem. Through a gentle, long term approach my mobility base has increased enormously and this has made training, moving and recovery far easy and more enjoyable. Moving well for life and moving well for sport go hand in hand and with Jac I have had the most success and enjoyed the process along the way.

I am grateful to Jac at Primal Footprint for her skill, her genuine interest in my problem and her guidance. Jac has a keen eye for observation and was able to suggest techniques and modify activities to get me moving even though I felt 'seized up'. Jac was optimistic about my prognosis and motivated me to try. I was sceptical of assistance as I had had lots of advice from colleagues, friends and family and I had seen allied health practitioners with little or no improvement. I was doing lots of walking and swimming, but pain was increasing. My doctor suggested I see Jac, and now I no longer have low back pain after many years, so I don't need analgesics. Best outcome possible.
